Dr James Lowe
Dr James Lowe graduated from the University of Johannesburg with a Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Chiropractic. He holds several additional qualifications, including the International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) through FICS, the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine, and certification as a FAKTR practitioner. A passionate sportsman with a strong interest in competitive multi-discipline sports, Dr Lowe has developed a particular enthusiasm for sports chiropractic and the management of active individuals and athletes. His treatment approach is centred on identifying and addressing dysfunction throughout the entire biomechanical chain, utilising a combination of chiropractic care, soft tissue techniques, rehabilitation strategies, and movement-based interventions to optimise function and performance. Dr Lowe is the current President of Chirosport South Africa and remains actively involved in advancing sports chiropractic both nationally and internationally. He has provided chiropractic and medical support at numerous local and international sporting events, working with athletes across a wide range of sporting disciplines. Dr Lowe is based at Pure Symmetry Multicare in Kyalami, where he provides patient-centred, evidence-informed care focused on reducing pain, restoring function, and helping patients achieve their health and performance goals.
Dr Matt Franzsen
Dr Matt Franzsen qualified from University of Johannesburg in 2015 with a special interest in sports Chiropractic. He went into private practice immediately after qualifying and soon after started Pure Symmetry. Dr Matt Franzsen has worked closely with top preforming athletes in multiple sporting codes and himself has South African colors for triathlon. He continues to learn and grow in the sporting fields and is the head coach at Pure Symmetry Multisport triathlon squad. Dr Franzsen believes, fundamentally, in fixing the cause on an injury instead of just the symptoms and bases his treatment protocols around this philosophy while at the same time returning patients to play as quickly as possible. Dr Franzsen practices at both the Pure Symmetry Parkmore and Bryanston branches.
Dr André Graça
André’s journey into healthcare began at the university of Witwatersrand, where André completed his first degree, a Bachelor of Health Science in biomedicine. His passion for helping others quickly grew and he wished to adopt an ideology in healthcare that focused on a holistic, full body and multifactorial approach. André then began his journey into chiropractic at the University of Johannesburg where he completed his dissertation on sports chiropractic in South Africa and graduated with a Master of Health Science in Chiropractic (M.Chiro). André is currently completing his International Certification in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) through the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS). André is an avid sportsman and grew up playing various sports over the years. He devoted most of his time towards Olympic Weightlifting, Football and CrossFit, for which he has competed in at a high level for several years. André also spent several years coaching in the fitness and CrossFit industry, allowing him to obtain vital knowledge and experience around human movement, biomechanics and optimizing injury prevention and recovery. According to André, sports chiropractic in the development of athlete is both paramount and unparalleled. Sports chiropractors hold a unique and expert understanding of the neuromusculoskeletal system, coupled with expertise in manual medicine, biomechanics and clinical acumen. André practices at both the Pure Symmetry Parkmore and Bryanston branches.
Dr Bevan Leedham
Dr Bevan Leedham is a registered chiropractor who graduated in 2026. He is committed to providing evidence-informed, patient-centred care, with a focus on helping individuals improve function, reduce pain, and achieve their health and performance goals. Dr Leedham is a member of Chirosport South Africa, reflecting his interest in sports chiropractic and the management of active individuals and athletes. He is dedicated to ongoing professional development and delivering high-quality chiropractic care tailored to each patient's needs.
